Olympic Dog is a new Event coming to a city near you. This is going to be a competition and a test for all working breeds to compete against one another. It is a test of speed, power, drive and overall working ability. In order to compete in an
Olympic Dog you must have a CAL1, BST1, or WDST1.
RULES
1) All Breeds may compete
2) All events have to be approved through American CAL & Tan before they will be eligible for titles.
3) Judges have the right to disqualify your dog for not following rules, arguing, or a dog that might be considered to aggressive.
4) Olympic Dog will be scored on 3 of the first four events or the optional 3 events. You have to complete the weight pull, 40yard dash and one of the two hardest hittings or the weight pull, 40yd dash and hangtime in order to earn a title and a chance at becoming an Olympic Dog Supreme. If your dog does all 4 events, we will add his best hardest hitting score to the over all
total. A perfect score will be 31. In the event there is a tie for 1st 2nd or 3rd place the dog with the fastest 40yd dash will win.
5) Olympic Dog Supreme will be dogs that win Gold, Silver or Bronze out of a minimum of 6 dogs competing. These dogs will not only earn a Medal and a Olympic Dog Title Certificate, but will also get a separate Olympic Dog Supreme title certificate. They will also be listed under Titled Dogs and Supreme Dogs.
6) 1st event of the Olympic Dog will be the 40yd dash. You or a friend will go to the starting line clearly marked. When the judge drops his hand the clock will start. You can do whatever it takes to get your dog across the finish line as long as you don't touch your dog and your dog don't touch you. When the dog crosses the finish line the clock will stop. Make sure to collect your dog as fast as possible. If the judge thinks you started to early he will ask you to do it again. If you start to early again you will be docked 2 full seconds to your time.
The first place dog will receive 10 points and on to the 5th place dog which will receive 6 points. Dogs finishing 6th or worse will earn no points.
7) 2nd event will be 40 yd Hardest Hitting. This will be done in the same place as the 40yd dash. You will take your dog to the same starting line. When the judge says go a decoy will be aggitating your dog with a whip or padded baton. Once the
dog hits come collect your dog ASAP. After that the decoy will tell the judge a score of 1 to 10. The first place dog will
receive 10 points and on to the 5th place dog which will receive 6 points. Dogs finishing 6th or worse will earn no
points. The first and 2nd event can be done at the same time if all the dogs can do this long of a hardest hitting. The judge will ask before the event starts, this is optional.
8) 3rd event is the Weight Pull. The distance will be 15 foot. One dog will pull once then the next dog and so on. Pull until the dog is done. No limit in pulls. One foul and one tangle. You have 1 minute to complete the pull or its a DQ. Once there is a DQ or time runs out you are finished. Baiting is aloud. One point will be given for a dog that does all pulls with no baiting. Once the clock starts no touching the dog or the dog touching you that is considered a foul. Sled pulls only no carts. 50lbs minimum for the first pull. Minimum 20lb increments per pull. In order to be eligible for the title one complete pull must be made before a foul occurs. If your dog touches you or the person baiting your dog before the first pull has been made your dog will be DQ'd and not eligible for a title.
9) 4th event is the 15 yd Hardest Hitting. You will take your dog to the same starting line. When the judge says go a decoy with a whip or padded baton will be at the finish line waiting to catch your dog. Once the dog hits come collect your dog ASAP. After that the decoy will tell the judge a score of 1 to 10. The first place dog will receive 10 points and on to the 5th place dog which will receive 6 points. Dogs finishing 6th or worse will earn no points.
10) 5th event OPTIONAL HANGTIME Substitute for those that don't want to or don't like to do bite work. The Hangtime will be 2 minutes with one drop to qualify for the title. Do the hang time, 40yd dash and the weight pull and earn an Olympic Dog Title. The clock starts when all four feet are off the ground and the clock stops when anything touches the ground. On the 2nd drop the event ends. The dog that holds the longest over 2 minutes will get 1st place and receive 10 points and onto the 5th place dog which will receive 6 points. Dogs that finish 6th or worse earn no points.
