When our Journey started it wasn’t planned to have such an successful outcome. When I had your father I fell in love with him and his demeanor looks getting lost in his eyes. Me and a friend snuck out one Saturday early morning full of coffee and energy drinks; with out letting anyone know what we were up too. We drove 7 hours to come pick you up at a dog show, turn around and come straight home. Your name came from that trip we white knuckled the entire way from excitement or the energy drinks. I had no idea what I was going to do with you from there. You became my bud you went everywhere with me I never let you out of my arms. You were always there for me never caused ruckus never had to worry about you and what you were doing because you were always right there with me. As you started to grow up You became a beautiful dog, and with your house brother’s encouragement we started training.
When we started training, I had two different cases on my hands a dog that needed to work and a dog that eh tried to work. Like most new handlers I wanted to achieve the sky with both of you. I had the most fun training with you, you always surprised us with every new adventure you came out strutting and accomplished. There was a lot of doubt in what you were capable of but not you, you always wanted to prove me wrong. You were a big bully dog everyone said they don’t do anything. Boy did we prove them wrong over and over again. I would be lying if I said I didn’t become title hungry for a while. We did so much together from bite work to obedience to dock diving to lure courses we even did bar hunting then becoming one if not the first XL Grand Champions. So many shows so many events so many things you taught me and everyone around you.
You inspired so many people you became a legend in so many ways. Every person you met every judge you wowed every Shock-N-Aw inspiration was because of you. I remember how fun we had at dock diving, even though that wasn’t our biggest accomplishment nor the hardest maybe that’s why it was so much fun, it was easy. The announcer said you are the bubble bee of dock diving, physics say you are not supposed to do this, but look at you try and fly. There was no convincing you that you weren’t the best, in your heart you knew you were the best at everything you did.
We have so many stories together so many memories from traveling across the country for shows and events. From long nights training till 1 -2 o’clock in the morning to try and beat the Arizona heat. Going to events saying I think we should try that, to laying in the grass watch you roll around for hours.
Even at your ending your heart and mind still striven to please and keep up. You never wanted to quite you never showed how much your body hurt, you never showed a moment of remorse. Knuckles you are the strongest hearted dog I know and I can’t stay that enough. I hate to fail you and wish I could ease your pain, have you live forever. Say Hi to Victor for me and hope you too have endless amounts of rolling grass hills to roll in and run.
